Vaccine or Testing Required for Monroe County Health Workers

Get the COVID vaccine or undergo regular COVID testing… that is the message from Monroe County officials to unvaccinated county health workers.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza announced today that employees of Monroe Community Hospital, the Monroe County Health Department, Rochester Regional Health, URMC, the University of Rochester, and UR Medicine affiliates will need to be vaccinated by Wednesday, September 8th, or be tested for the virus regularly.

Employees will be required to disclose their vaccination status and if they decline to report their status or to undergo testing, will face disciplinary consequences.

Employees vaccinated after September 8th can be released from the testing, masking, and distancing requirements once their fully vaccinated status is documented with the employer.
