Rochester Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan police are seeing a reduction in violent crime since the start of a new crackdown earlier this month.
The chief says the Rochester-Buffalo Federal task force targeted 29 people wanted for violent crimes in Rochester, and seven are facing federal prosecution.
There were at least 20 shootings and five homicides in the two weeks before the program and just 11 shootings and one homicide in the two weeks since it started.
Herriott-Sullivan says it's too soon to say if that's a trend.
She says she'll have a better idea after two full months.
