A caseworker for Child Protective Services in Wayne County is facing child sex abuse charges.
State police say 39-year-old Cody Phillips, of Walworth, subjected a child to repeated instances of sexual contact over several years.
He is charged with course of sexual conduct against a child, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Phillips also is a member of the Walworth Town Board, and is the second member of the board to be arrested this month on sex charges.
Board member Karel Ambroz II was arrested July 15 for trying to have sex with a child. His arrest came during a social media sting by police in Canandaigua.
