MCSO: Remains Found in Parma Belong to Missing Parma Man

The Monroe County Sheriff’s office is confirming that remains found on property on West Ridge Road in Parma, are in fact those of a man who lived there -- who had been reported missing.

Authorities say bone fragments and a number of surgical implants recovered from a burn pit on the property, belong to William Mason. The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office has now declared Mason deceased. He had been reported missing by family members in late May.

MCSO Investigative Sergeant David Bolton says a review of video evidence collected during the investigation confirms there was a fire in the fire pit between May 25th and the 26th.

Bolton says he believes this was a targeted incident and says there are potential suspects and a potential motive in the case.
