Visitors to the north shore of Conesus Lake should be on the lookout for blue green algae blooms.
The Livingston County health department says the blooms were found in -- and around -- Vitale Park.
Don't drink the lake water or use it for cooking, and you shouldn't wade in water that is discolored or has scum on the surface.
Blue green algae can create toxins in high concentrations.
But authorities say the public water supply is safe for drinking.
