Cause of Fatal Helicopter Crash in Mendon Released

An Army National Guard spokesman says the crew of a helicopter that crashed in January suffered a flight control issue.

Col. Richard Goldenberg says a procedural error during an emergency training maneuver caused the crash. He adds that the action taken by the crew was according to their training, but put the aircraft into a non-recoverable situation.

The three National Guardsmen, Christian Koch, Daniel Prial, and Steven Skoda died when their Blackhawk helicopter went down in Mendon during a training mission.
