A robbery investigation is underway after the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says someone stole a purse and an occupied vehicle in Pittsford.
Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Pittsford Plaza on Monroe Avenue Friday evening for the report of a person who stole a woman’s purse off her shoulder near the Barnes and Nobles. The woman chased the suspect who ran toward Monroe Avenue.
A short time later authorities say the same suspect approached a 2014 Honda CRV that was stopped at a red light waiting to turn onto Monroe Avenue, opened the passenger side door and pushed the driver out.
The suspect fled in the stolen vehicle and is still on the run. The vehicle was last seen heading towards the city. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office.
