One person is dead after an industrial accident in Orleans County. The Orleans County Sheriff's Office says they were called to Millenium Roads, a highway construction company in Lyndonville, for a report of two people trapped and unconscious inside a tank.
The Sheriff's Office said both men were cleaing the inside of the tank with water when they were overcome by something inside the tank. The Department of Environmental Conservation is checking oxygen levels inside the tank and what materials may have been present.
Both men were rescued from the tank and life-saving measures were begun. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.
