Grease Trap Law Approved After 3-Year Old Boy Dies

The state Assembly has approved regulations that were proposed after a small boy fell into a grease trap and died outside a Rochester donut shop.

The legislation is called Bryce's Law and is named for three-year-old Bryce Raynor.

It calls for warning signs for grease traps and requires that they be designed to withstand weight on top of them.

Monroe County approved local regulations soon after the accident in 2019.
