Rochester police say an officer shot and killed a dog that had attacked a mother and a daughter on the city's west side.
It happened yesterday afternoon on Maryland Street.
Police say as officers tried to help the woman, the dog charged at an officer -- forcing him to shoot the dog.
The woman had several wounds -- including a leg wound that required a tourniquet. Her 14-year-old daughter also had wounds to her legs and hands.
