UPDATE: State police say the man killed in the Thruway crash yesterday in Seneca County was from Rochester.
Troopers say 32-year-old Sylvester Thomas was driving west in a box struck and rear-ended a tractor trailer that was slowing down for a lane closure.
Thomas died at the scene. The Pennsylvania man driving the tractor trailer was not hurt.

A truck driver is dead after two trucks crashed into each other on the westbound lanes of the Thruway in Seneca County.
New York State Police say the crash happened about 12:45 Thursday afternoon in Tyre, near the Del Lago Casino. A tractor trailer and a box trailer collided. All westbound lanes are blocked and traffic is being diverted at exit 40 in Weedsport. Eastbound lanes are unaffected.
