Rochester Jazz Fest Called Off

The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival will not go on this year after all.

Festival producers Marc Iacona and John Nugent announced today that the festival would have to be postponed until next year because of state health guidelines and capacity restrictions.

Organizers say they ran into several roadblocks, including capacity limits, border closures, artists feeling reluctant to travel, and limited availability of talent to book.

This year's festival was supposed to be moved to the RIT campus to allow for more room for audience spacing, and was scheduled for late July to allow more people to be vaccinated.

Next year’s festival will take place June 17 to 25, 2022.
