RPD: Death in February Counted as City's 21st Homicide This Year

Rochester police say a death in February has been ruled a homicide resulting from wounds suffered in a shooting nearly 30 years ago.

Rasheem Broughton was 16 when he was shot in the neck during a robbery near Joseph Avenue and Cuba Place in 1991. The shooter pleaded guilty and finished his attempted murder and robbery sentence in 2016.

Police say the shooter will not face additional charges.

For purposes of FBI reporting, the case is being counted as this year's 21st homicide in the city.
