"U.S. News and World Report" is out with its annual list of the best public high schools, and five were ranked among the top 1000.
Pittsford Mendon was Number 22 in the state and Number 193 in the U.S.
The others in the top 1000 include Pittsford Sutherland, Honeoye Falls-Lima, Brighton and Penfield. Victor and Geneseo finished just outside the top 1000 but were among the top 100 in the state.
The schools are ranked on college readiness, math and reading proficiency, and graduation rates.
