The former Webster school district coach who was acquitted on a rape charge is suing the school district, the town, and Webster police.
Kali Watkins was Webster Central's former girl's basketball coach.
He was accused of raping a 14-year-old student in a locker room in 2017, but a jury found him not guilty in 2019.
In his lawsuit, Watkins claims he was a target of personal animosity from members of the Police Department and by the school district.
The suit says the district superintendent, Carmen Gumina, had a personal vendetta against Watkins and says police failed to interview witnesses who could have provided information in his favor.
