Attorney General James Releases Prude Grand Jury Transcripts

New York Attorney General Leticia James has released transcripts of nine grand jury sessions involving her office's investigation into the death of Daniel Prude. The grand jury spent more than 45 hours in total on its investigation. The 20 members then voted 15-to-five to drop charges against the three officers involved.

The sessions covered Daniel Prude's journey from Chicago to Rochester just over a year ago, his trip to Strong Memorial Hospital after his brother became concerned over his mental health, and the final encounter with Rochester Police on Genesee Street that left him unconscious. He died in the hospital a week later without regaining consciousness.

In a statement, AG James says this is the first time in New York history that grand jury transcripts in the case of a police-involved death have been made public. She says she did it because the public deserves to know what happened. You can read the nine individual transcripts below:
