New York State Troopers to begin Using Body-Worn Cameras

New York state troopers are about to start using body-worn cameras.

The first batch is being deployed this month at Troop G in the Albany area. Training and use will gradually be expanded to troopers statewide.

The requirement for Troopers to wear the cameras was included in legislation that was signed by Governor Cuomo last June.

The state police are getting 3,000 cameras from supplier Axon. The company also will provide technical support and store the video in the cloud.
