Time Running Out for State Lawmakers To Approve a New Budget by Deadline

State lawmakers are running out of time if they want to approve a new budget on-time.

Some members of the Legislature have said they're not optimistic a deal can be struck before the midnight deadline.

But Governor Cuomo's office said this week that negotiations are at their usual point this close to April 1st.

Agreements must be reached on several key issues -- including education, health care and higher taxes on wealthy New Yorkers.
