Funeral Planned for Man Set on Fire on Lyell Ave.

Steven Amenhauser

The Rochester police union is helping plan a funeral service and burial for the man who died after he was set on fire at his Lyell Avenue apartment.

Steven Amenhauser died Tuesday without any family to make arrangements.

The police Locust Club is working with the Holy Apostles Church to hold a proper funeral.

The union and Monroe County say the costs will be covered.

Community members who raised money for the funeral plan to donate it instead to the burn unit at Strong Hospital.

Two teenagers were arrested on murder charges, and a grand jury could hear the case today.
