The Village of Pittsford is getting a new mayor for the first time in 28 years.

Former Deputy Mayor Alysa Plummer defeated incumbent Mayor Robert Corby by a vote of 222 to 207.

Corby has long opposed a planned apartment complex along the Erie Canal.

The fight boiled over recently when Corby copied trustee Dan Keating on an email to an attorney calling Keating a "fecal maggot"

Plummer is a Democrat, and her victory is more evidence County Republicans have lost ground in what had been a stronghold.
