Red Wings Season Delayed

Concerns about the coronavirus are delaying the start of the Triple-A baseball season by four weeks.

The Rochester Red Wings will open the season on the road on May 4 against Lehigh Valley.

The home opener at Frontier Field is now set for May 18 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The delay allows for some players to be vaccinated before traveling regularly for the season.

This season, the Wings will only face the five other Northeast Division teams.

Each home and road series will feature six games against the same opponent, with Mondays off.

The season will end on September 19.
