City Man Who Rammed Car into Police Cruiser Already Wanted for Other Crimes

Rochester police say a city man who rammed his stolen car into a police cruiser over the weekend turned out to be wanted on two outstanding warrants.

19-year old Luvarius Santiago was arrested before dawn yesterday.

Police had spotted the stolen vehicle near Dewey and Driving Park. When they pulled it over, they say Santiago put the car in reverse and hit the patrol car.

An officer fired three shots, hitting the car. When Santiago tried to drive away, hit hit a pole and crashed.

His new charges include grand larceny and attempted assault. He was already wanted for menacing and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
