Rochester's Democratic Committee is standing by Mayor Lovely Warren, even though she is facing trial for campaign finance violations.
More than 60 percent of the committee members voted on Saturday to make Warren the committee's designated candidate in this year's race for mayor.
Warren is seeking a third term.
City Council member Malik Evans is the most prominent Democrat planning to challenge her in a party primary.
