Rochester Restaurant Will Get Liquor License Back

The owner of a restaurant in Gates who sued after his liquor license was stripped by the state, is getting it back.

13WHAM reports a judge has ruled in favor of Veneto Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta, and the liquor license suspension will be lifted.

The Veneto restaurant on Buffalo Road was cited last month for allowing indoor dining in an orange zone.

Owner Donald Swartz claims the state flagged him after he went to court to fight the orange zone restrictions on his other restaurant in Rochester.

He complied with those restrictions but says he thought the Gates restaurant was in a yellow zone.
