RCSD Plan for Return to In Person Classes for Some Students Next Week

Teachers and some parents in the Rochester City School District remain at odds over the district plan to return some students to class on Monday.

Parents spoke in favor of the plan at last night's school board meeting.

The teachers union has gone on record against the plan, but some community activists support it.

The head of Action for a Better Community, Jerome Underwood, says the district is following the same guidelines that allowed the other districts in the county to reopen for hybrid or full-time in-school classes.

But the union says the district has not equipped classrooms with the necessary technology.
