Students May Not Have to Take State Assessments or Regents Exams This Year

Students in schools across the state may not have to take any state assessment tests or Regents exams this year.

The State Education Department is asking for a federal waiver to cancel them, because of to the pandemic.

The state was granted a similar request last year after students switched to remote learning to prevent the virus from spreading.

Public comment on the proposal can be submitted to the Education Department through February 5th.
