Genesee County reportedly is on the short list of possible sites for a for Samsung Electronics semiconductor plant.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung is also considering two locations near Phoenix, Arizona, and two near Austin, Texas.
The story did not specify a location in Genesee County, but it might be the Western New York Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park in the Town of Alabama.
The proposed plant could be up and running by fall 2022 and employ up to 1,900 people.
