Goodwill of the Finger Lakes has received a major donation from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.
The billionaire announced last month that more than $4 billion would be donated to hundreds of organizations around the U.S., including Goodwill of the Finger Lakes and the United Way of Greater Rochester.
Goodwill is receiving $10 million, the largest single donation in the organization’s history.
It says it plans to use the donation to invest in their community-based programs and provide more job opportunities.
Scott announced $20 million for the United Way of Greater Rochester last month.
The organization is setting up a task force to determine how those funds will be utilized.
