County Legislature Faces Sexual Harassment Charge

Monroe County Legislator Ernest Flagler-Mitchell is facing sexual harassment allegations after saying he accidentally sexted a picture intended for his wife to a 19-year-old woman working in his office. That woman complained to the County Ethics Committee, calling for an investigation and for Flager-Mitchell to resign.

Flagler-Mitchell says he's apologized, and believes politically-connected people are attempting to force him out of the legislature's Black and Asian Caucus.

A statement from the Legislature President's office says any allegations of harassment should be taken seriously and thoroughly reviewed. It says the issue has been reported to the Board of Ethics and law enforcement, and it would be inappropriate for the legislature to comment further.
