State Getting More COVID Aid

Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say after numerous discussions, President-elect Joe Biden and his incoming FEMA administrators will deliver about $2 billion in additional COVID-19 aid to New York State.

Schumer says the money is meant to help alleviate the mounting local costs of dealing with the pandemic.

The Trump Administration said last year the federal government would cover 75 percent of New York's COVID-related expenses.

Biden's change will cover 100 percent of those costs.
