Eligibility for Vaccine Expanded to 65 and Older and Immunocompromised

Governor Cuomo says the state is in no position to vaccinate the 7 million New Yorkers now eligible to get the COVID-19 shot.

That number now includes people over 65 and people with compromised immune systems.

He says the federal government is only supplying 300,000 doses a week -- and the Number One priority has to be vaccinating hospital workers, so they can handle the patient surge.

Cuomo says collapse of the hospital system is the Number One risk -- and he says the state is balancing hospital capacity "on the head of a pin."
