Robberies End With Suspect Shot

Police from Ontario County to Rochester are investigating a string of armed robberies that ended at a Thurston Road deli...when the store owner pulled his legally owned weapon and shot the suspect. Rochester Police say they believe all the crimes were committed by the same suspect, starting with a robbery at an Ontario County gas station yesterday afternoon.

The crimes continued with the robbery of the FastTrac station on West Ridge Road in Rochester, the Family Dollar Store on Dewey Avenue, and the attempted holdup at Angelo's Grocery and Deli where the suspect was shot Wednesday evening.

Police say the store owner stood by until police arrived and the suspect was taken to the hospital. He's expected to recover.
