Testing of Monroe County Jail Inmates Completed

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says it's completed testing of all inmates in the County Jail...and found 254 of them testing positive for COVID-19 so far. Of those inmates testing positive, 14 were symptomatic. But no inmates are hospitalized currently because of the virus.

The Sheriff's Office says at least 50 inmates have recovered from COVID, but they're not being moved back into the general jail population for 21 days after they tested positive. Inmates who previously tested "negative" are being retested by medical contractor Prime Care. And all inmates are being tested twice as they are processed into the jail.
