Rochester Man Indicted in 2016 Bank Robbery

Federal prosecutors say a Rochester man has been indicted by a grand jury on charges including bank robbery for holding up the Chase Bank on East Ridge Road.

They say he entered the bank in March of 2016, told a teller to give him money, and fled on foot with a sack full of cash.

An off-duty Rochester police investigator witnessed the holdup, but didn't intervene because he didn't know if the suspect was armed.

Police were able to quickly identify the suspect as 32-year-old Eric Fountain of Rochester.

A search of the getaway car turned up evidence linking Fountain to the crime.
