Much of the Northeast is digging out after a large winter storm dumped widespread snow on New England into the Mid-Atlantic.
More than 12-hundred-50 flights have been canceled since yesterday after the snow made travel conditions treacherous.
Airports in cities like New York, Boston and Philadelphia got out ahead of the storm with pre-emptive cancellations. Most airlines are giving out flight waivers for travelers impacted by the cancellations.
In Albany, flakes started falling last night and continued into the morning hours. Some spots have seen a foot or more of snow. There are also concerns about strong wind gusts that could trigger widespread power outages.
Binghamton also got hit hard, with some areas seeing around 40 inches of snow.
Governor Cuomo has declared states of emergencies in eighteen counties after a strong winter storm moved through and dumped more than two feet of snow across many parts of the state.
The counties included in the declaration are Albany, Broome, Chenango, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Montgomery, Orange, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Sullivan, Tioga, Ulster and Washington Counties.
There are also several travel restrictions and speed limit reductions that have been put in place.
