Report: No Wrongdoing by Rochester Employees Following Prude Arrest

An investigation has found no wrongdoing by Mayor Warren or her senior officials following the Mental Hygiene Arrest of Daniel Prude -- the man who died a week after he was restrained by police in March.

The Director of the Office of Public Integrity, Tim Weir, says the review found no violation of policies or ethical standards by the mayor, the deputy mayor, the communications director or the corporation counsel, or their staffs.

The review said there was no policy against a failure by the communications director or the counsel to inform the mayor about information they received by the police chief. But the review says their 30-day suspensions were within Warren's discretion for failing to meet her expectations.

And Weir says the review did find opportunities for policies, procedures and standards to be created or enhanced.
