Cleanup Begins at Site of Home Explosion in Gates

Crews are starting to cleanup the mess left behind by the house explosion in Gates.

No one was hurt when the house on Noel Drive, off Lyell Road, blew up. The person living there wasn't home.

The investigation into the cause of the blast could take several days.

Ridge Road Fire District spokesman Brian Gebo says the response was complicated by a free-flowing gas line that fed the fire.

Video from a neighbor's doorbell camera shows the detonation and the fireball.

Flames damaged the garage on one house next door, and damaged siding on another. An off-duty firefighter helped evacuate the people living there.
