Unused Funds To Expand Mental Health Services May Soon Expire

Money earmarked by Monroe County in September to expand mental health services reportedly has not been spent.

13WHAM reports the funding will expire at the end of the month unless it is used.

The funding was announced in September, after the public learned of the restraint by police of Daniel Prude and his death days later.

The Monroe County legislature committed $100,000 to make the Forensic Intervention Team available 24/7.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello pledged an additional $260,000.
