8:30pm update:
Fire officials say so far nobody is known to be hurt after a house exploded on Noel Drive off Lyell Road in Gates this evening. The blast sent flame and debris into the sky and set fire to the houses on either side. Those fires have been put out, and fire officials say the cause of the blast is under investigation. Dozens of fire companies and some 150 firefighters responded.
