Our area may have had an extraterrestrial visitor today.
The American Meteor Society says it received several reports of a fireball in the sky at around 12:10 this afternoon.
It was apparently accompanied by a large boom audible from Detroit to Syracuse.
Several witnesses say they saw a bright fireball with a tail streaking through the air.
Thus far, there are no reports of any impact on the ground.
