A person is dead following a crash on the NYS Thruway in Ontario County.
State Police say the crash happened around 10:30 this morning between the Exit 43 westbound off-ramp and on-ramp in the town of Manchester.
Authorities say a 2016 Freightliner tractor was traveling eastbound on the Thruway and drifted across the center median, into the westbound lanes.
The truck drove the wrong way onto the westbound on-ramp and then into an adjacent grassy area, striking a tree head-on.
The 34 year-old driver, who is from out of state, was trapped in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
