New York ISO Expects Adequate Electricity Supplies This Winter

The New York Independent System Operator says electricity supplies in the state are expected to be adequate this winter.

The grid has more than 42,000 megawatts available to meet forecasted peak demand and the ISO expects peak will reach slightly more than 24,000 megawatts. That's up from last year but slightly below the ten-year average.

Even in an extreme weather scenario, the ISO says more than enough power will be available.
