Woman Rescued From Burning Apartment House

The Rochester Fire Department was called out late last night to a fire in a house on West Main Street near Jefferson Avenue. They rescued a woman who was trapped in a rear apartment on the second floor. bringing her down ladders to the ground. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. The fire damaged all three floors of the building, displacing eight people from their apartments. The Red Cross is assisting them with temporary housing.
