NY Sheriffs Plan to Defy Governor's Private Gathering Enforcement Orders

Some sheriffs in New York are saying they're going to defy the governor's orders to limit gatherings at private residences.

Governor Cuomo last week announced a limit on indoor gatherings to a max of ten people due to the surge in COVID cases.

In a Facebook post, the Steuben County Sheriff said his office "will not be peeking in your window" or going on your property to count the people at your Thanksgiving table.

In a post that has since gone viral, Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino wrote "who and how many people you invite into your home is your own business."
