Number of Coronavirus Cases Increases in Monroe Co.

Monroe County is seeing a spike in coronavirus cases.

Monroe County Health Officials are reporting 120 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The seven-day rolling average is now 112 cases per day. There have been no additional deaths over the past 24 hours; the total remaining at 307.

Monroe County Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says the number of active cases that we have right now is more than three times the number of cases we had just a month ago.

Mendoza called it a second wave, saying we are seeing this spike because too many people are gathering without adhering to the coronavirus guidelines.
