Coronavirus Pandemic Extremely Costly to the State's Coffers

The coronavirus pandemic has been extremely costly to the state's coffers.

The state’s budget director Robert Mujica has issued a mid-year report saying COVID-19 will cost the state $63 billion over the next four years.

New York’s general fund saw a nearly $15 billion decline for this fiscal year, with tax receipts down more than 15%.
