Four Shot, two Killed Early This Morning in Rochester

UPDATE: 36-year-old Glen Burden and 31-year-old Travis Johnson have been identified as the two men shot to death in an incident on State Street between Brown and Jay Streets north of downtown this morning.

Rochester police say four people were shot and two of them killed in an incident on State Street between Brown and Jay Streets north of downtown. The shootings happened at about 1:15 Sunday morning.

Police found one victim at the scene and learned the other had been brought to Strong Hospital by friends. Both victims were pronounced dead at the hospital. The two other victims are being treated. The Major Crimes Unit is working to identify the victims and is asking anyone with information to call 911 or Crime Stoppers.

Hours earlier and four blocks to the north, two men were stabbed on State Street in a fight on Saturday night. They found the victims, both city residents, across town on St. Paul Street and they were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where they're recovering.

Another man who had been at the fight scene has been identified, and the investigation continues. There's no indication of any connection between the two incidents so far.
