Fires Damage Rochester Home, Apartment House

Firefighters say no one was hurt in a single-family house fire on Rochester's northwest side.

It broke out just before 9 last night on Locust Street. The fire was reported in a wall and flames damaged the second floor and the attic.

The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, The Red Cross is assisting six adults and two children who were displaced from a two-alarm fire at a Rochester apartment house.

The fire broke out just before 10 last night on St. Paul Street, near Norton.

There was a report of people trapped, but firefighters found no one inside. One person who breathed in the smoke was sent to the hospital.

Four apartments were damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
