SUNY Will Test All Students Before Thanksgiving Break

The SUNY schools will require students who live or take classes on campus to test negative for the coronavirus before they can go home for Thanksgiving.

SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras announced the policy Tuesday and says students must test negative withing ten days before leaving their campus.

Campuses must develop schedules that conduct the test as close to a student’s departure date as possible.

About 140,000 students at the 64 campuses will have to be tested. The campuses must submit a plan to meet that requirement by November 5

Most SUNY campuses will shift to 100 percent remote learning after Thanksgiving
