New York finally begins enforcing its ban on plastic bags today.
The ban took effect in March, but enforcement was put on hold because of the pandemic.
Many stores and take-out restaurants stopped using plastic bags then, but others didn't.
Shoppers will have to bring their own reusable bag or expect to pay for paper bags.
